Our Leadership

James Smith

Be My Witnesses Founder

Evangelism & Mission Coach

James serves as our Founder and our ministry’s primary Coach. James has a passion for evangelism and helping others navigate evangelism conversations with family an community. He is known as someone who is able to have a conversation with anyone and share the message of Jesus in a respectful, honest, and clear manner.

James serves as a missions leader in a prominent evangelical church where he equips & leads mission teams, consults & trains missionaries, and helps his congregation faithfully share with their friends and neighbors. James has led evangelism for nine years, served in different evangelical churches for seven years, has an undergraduate degree in Intercultural Missions, and is currently studying to complete his M.Div. in Missions & Evangelism.

In all of James’ education and experience, he has shared the message of Christ with people from most major worldviews, every major world religion, numerous cults, and radical political ideologies. From this experience, James has developed coaching methods and tools for teaching others how to navigate conversations so they can share their faith with confidence and courage.

Our Beliefs

Be His Witnesses Ministry is a theologically conservative and evangelical ministry with Baptist roots. We maintain that the Scriptures alone are the sufficient source of revelation for the individual and the Church. The Holy Spirit does speak to us and guides us, but the Holy Spirit never disagrees with the Word of God.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” - 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We affirm the following theological statements:

The Apostle’s Creed

NAE Statement of Faith (1942)

The Lausanne Covenant (1974)

Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy (1978)

The Baptist Faith & Message (2000)

The Nashville Statement on Biblical Sexuality (2017)

Privacy & Security

We are a U.S.-based ministry, and while much of what we do is here at home, part of our work extends internationally. This includes in regions where openly sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ can carry serious legal, social, or physical risk.

For that reason, we intentionally limit certain identifying details on this website, such as specific names, exact locations, photos, and details of international ministry activities.

This isn't about secrecy. It's about protecting the safety of our team members that travel abroad and the local believers they serve alongside. In some countries, publicizing names, faces, or precise locations can lead to surveillance, harassment, detainment, or worse for the people involved.

We're grateful for your support and prayers as we carry out this work faithfully and wisely, both in the U.S. and around the world.
